2007 ANNUAL MEETING NOTES

On February 25, 2007, Bahia Street invited donors and friends to a house party at which International Director Margaret Willson discussed the organization’s areas of focus for the year. Click here for the 2007 Annual Meeting Notes. We have a busy year ahead of us!

BAHIA STREET CENTER LIBRARY

One of our 2007 goals is to establish a bi-lingual library (Portuguese/English) at the newly remodeled Bahia Street Center. We have received generous donations of books and funds to buy books, we are well underway to having a fully operational library by the end of the 2007 school year.

We thank the following companies for their support:
Alibris (United States)
Companhia das Letras (Brazil)
Editora Rocco (Brazil)
Yazigi Language Schools (Brazil)

We thank Dr. Mitchell Davis for his generous financial support of the library project. Dr. Davis learned about our project through the Alibris Donate-A-Book program and provided funding for 500 Portuguese language books.

The library project would not have been possible without the help of Sarah Odedina (Bloomsbury Publishing), Laura Riff, Bill Kane (Alibris), Patty Heiser (University of Washington ESL), and Bahia Street volunteers Rebecca Sayre and Melanie Wyffels.

Bahia Street is grateful for the time, effort, and financial support of this international group of individuals and companies. Thank you for your support!
