A number of our supporters have asked family and friends to make a donation to Bahia Street rather than buying flowers for their funeral, or to commemorate the anniversary of their death. For many, it is a fitting way for family and friends to pay tribute to their loved ones. Gifts made in memory of an individual not only commemorate their support of Bahia Street’s work, but also what they believed in passionately during their lifetime – helping to break cycles of poverty and violence through education, and helping young women in the shantytowns of Brazil.
